A Tamil film titled ‘Maa’ is being made by a group of differently abled youths who suffer from various types of physical disabilities. The shooting of the entire film has been wrapped up in and around Madurai.
All departments of film-making including direction, editing, music, cooking for the crew, driving the four-wheelers to transport the crew, etc. are being performed by these highly confident-minded differently abled persons. If the very news that they can perform all the above-said work isn’t moving enough, there’s more to follow!
Kidhiyon Karthick has scored the music of the film. The high-profile Rajya Sabha M.P. and Kalaignar’s daughter Kanimozhi released the film’s audio in the first week of January. Persons who are either partially or fully blind and various other physically challenged persons have acted in the film. After many years, all the artistes in a film, like in ‘Maa’, have dubbed in their own voices instead of opting for the ‘dubbing’ version.
Many blind artistes, who dubbed in their own voices during the re-recording in the studios, have created a world record in the number of such persons dubbing for a particular film. The artistes, including ‘Nethrodhaya’ Govinda Krishnan, Aruna, Muthuchelvi, Sathya Narayanan, Kidhiyon Karthick, Nammazhwar and Sathya, impressed those at the recording theatre with their tactful ways of dubbing.
Prof. Madhan Gabriel, the creator of the film, was all praise for his cast members and said that the hard work put in by all of them would definitely pay rich dividends.
