Paris: Trial of two suspected Islamist groupsPARIS - The trial of nine suspected militants, gathered in two groups
in the east and south-west France, accused of having participated in
paramilitary training and possession of weapons of war, opened Wednesday
at a court in Paris.

* The nine men suspected of conspiring to prepare attacks and
acquisition and possession of weapons, investigators have found during
searches of a dozen weapons, including Kalashnikov assault rifles and
automatic pistols.
The first group of five men in Besançon (East) - an Algerian
and four French, three of Bosnian origin and an Algerian origin - have
been accused, in particular on the basis of intelligence, for having
delivered information and undergone close combat and weapons handling.
One defendant is a teacher in a vocational school, another
fought with the Bosnian army during the intercommunal strife (...)
