N-capable missile Agni II test-fired

Balasore, May 17: After facing two failures in 2009, the
Army successfully test-fired the nuclear capable Agni-II missile off
the Orissa coast on Monday, May 17.


The
test was part of the user trial conducted from the Wheelers
Defence sources said that the trial was conducted from a rail mobile
system in Launch Complex-4 of Integrated Test Range (ITR) at around 9:15
am.



The test was carried out by the Strategic Forces
Command (SFC) of the Army. Personnel of Defence Research and
Development Organisation (DRDO) and several laboratories provided the
logistic support for the test.

Now, the officials are busy
analysing the data relating to various parameters of the mission's
objectives.


Agni-II Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) is a
surface-to-surface missile with a range of 2000 kms. The missile has
already been inducted into the services.

Agni-II, however, failed
a test in May 2009 and a night trial in Nov 2009.

பாலாசூர்: அணு ஆயுதங்களை ஏந்திச் சென்று எதிரி இலக்குகளைத் தாக்கும் வல்லமை
படைத்த அக்னி-2 ஏவுகணை இன்று வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதித்துப் பார்க்கப்பட்டது.

ஏற்கனவே
இரண்டு முறை இந்த ஏவுகணை சோதனை தோல்வியடைந்த நிலையில் இன்று வெற்றிகரமாக
ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த ஏவுகணை 2000 கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம் வரை பாய்ந்து
சென்று தாக்கக் கூடியதாகும். ஒரி்ஸ்ஸாவில் சண்டிபூர் அருகே உள்ள வீலர்ஸ்
தீவு ஏவுதளத்தில் இந்த ஏவுகணை ஏவப்பட்டது.

இந்திய ராணுவத்துக்காக
ஏற்கனவே அக்னி-1ஏவுகணை தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதிக்கப்பட்டு,
ராணுவத்தில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது.

இது 700 கிலோ மீட்டர் தூரம் வரை
பறந்து சென்று தாக்கும் திறன் கொண்டது.

இந் நிலையில் நடுத்தர
ஏவுகணையான அக்னி-2, முழுக்க முழுக்க உள்நாட்டு தொழில்நுட்பத்துடனும்
தனியார் பங்களிப்புடனும் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

2,000 கிலோ மீட்டர்
தூரம் வரை பாய்ந்து சென்று தாக்கும் சக்தி படைத்த இந்த ஏவுகணை 1 டன் கொண்ட
அணு ஆயுதத்தை ஏந்திச் செல்லக்கூடியதாகும்.

21 மீட்டர் நீளம் ஒரு
மீட்டர் அகலம் கொண்ட இந்த ஏவுகணையின் எடை 17 டன். ஒரு டன் அணு ஆயுதத்தின்
எடையை குறைத்தால் 2,000 கிலோ மீட்டருக்கும் அதிகமாகவே சென்று தாக்கும்
சக்தியுடன் அக்னி-2 வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த ஏவுகணை இன்று வெற்றிகரமாக
பரிசோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது. இன்று காலை ஏவப்பட்ட இந்த ஏவுகணை திட்டமிட்ட
இலக்கை வெற்றிகரமாகத் தாக்கியது.

ஏற்கனவே இரண்டு முறை இந்த
ஏவுகணையின் சோதனை தோல்வியடைந்த நிலையில் இன்று சோதனை வெற்றிகரமாக
நடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
